On Sunday, March 5, Houston Immigration Attorney Susham Modi spoke at Big Hearted Texas’s immigration panel. The panel covered topics such as the current immigration policy changes, sanctuary city debates and local efforts to assist immigrants. Attorney Modi was able to offer his expertise in these areas to over a hundred people in attendance. Organizing the panel was the former First Lady of Houston, Andrea White. Fellow panelists included Anne Chandler, Director of Tahirih Justice Center, a DACA recipient and advocate and a representative of the ACLU.
